Got Gurmat School ?

Boys and girls, children of all ages: its that time of year for Gurmat School staff and students. A time where we look back at the fun, success and sikhi that we have learned over the past year. Also realizing, that we have over 2 months vacation from Gurmat School, which means, lots of time to get energized again for September, and to rock the third year of Gurmat School like never before!

Last weekend was our annual "Gurmat School BBQ" and what a day it was. From certificates, to the food, to the fathers tug-of-war battle, it was a fantastic day all around. There was an over abundance of food, which is NEVER a bad thing because we were able to donate it all to the Gurdwara.

The sports and activities organized were great, and definitely built up a sweat and the hunger for the tasty burgers, hot dogs, salads, and more! Not to mention, watching some of the Group C boys skip along the grass during the relay race was PRICELESS - BOYS, we've got pictures and evidence - beware muahahahah!

Once again, a big thanks and a shout out goes to all the parents who have supported the Gurmat School over the past 2 years, as well as the BBQ Organizing Commuttee who did an amazing job this year. We hope for your continued assistance in making the Gurmat School bigger and better.

Thank you to the Gurdwara Committee who continues to lend a helping hand, and who is working hard to put the children of their community first. This will be seen with the construction of new classrooms for Gurmat School, which we will continue to fundraise for, in order to help the Gurdwara with this initiative. It is a pleasure to announce that over the course of the last few weeks, the Gurmat School has been able to collectively fundraise over $600 that will be used for the construction of brand new classrooms for Gurmat School. We should all continue our fundraising efforts throughout the summer. Start thinking people - lets get creative!

One last thank you to all the Staff/Teachers that took time out of their busy schedules, put together lesson plans, made up lesson plans on the spot sometimes. These individuals continued to do their seva for their younger brothers and sisters, without ever asking for anything in return.
