October 20th, 1708 is the day when the Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was declared the Guru of the Sikhs by Guru Gobind Singh. The Siri Guru Granth Sahib is our present Guru (the Shabad Guru) and today, October 20, 2010, marks the 302nd anniversary of Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Gurugaddi!

Sikhs around America are extremely pleased to hear that President Obama has decided to visit Sri Harminder Sahib on his visit to Amritsar. His visit will serve as a message of peace and the Presidents' interfaith understanding will give a new light to the Sikhs after the many problems that they faced after the 9/11 attacks.
