Would you like to make a difference in Peel?...

...then... Become a member of the Sexual Assault Rape Crisis Centre of Peel's Board!!


The Sexual Assault Rape Crisis Centre of Peel (SA/RCCP), a non-profit charitable agency that provides critical programs and service to survivors of historic and current sexual assault in the region of Peel, is currently recruiting at least 4 qualified Board members who are women, 21 years and older, that reflect the different communities of the region.


Skills and Competencies: In addition to being recognized in their own fields and/or experience and expertise, the candidates are expected to demonstrate:

• Feminist understandings of sexual violence and/or an interest in learning about feminist analysis of sexual violence as experienced differently by different women
• Understanding of and/or willingness to learn about the agency’s approach to anti-oppression and anti-discrimination as reflected in the Integrated Anti-racist feminist Framework of the agency
• Understanding of Board governance practices
• Experience in the non-profit sector, corporate sector, and/or non-profit boards
• Demonstrated leadership roles within a Board structure
• Ability to work cohesively and effectively to actualize the mission and mandate of the agency
• Understanding of financial statements
• Commitment to the SA/RCCP and the creation of global safety of sexual violence survivors, in particular women and girls and the elimination of sexual violence globally


The Board is currently seeking women candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

· Delivery of quality programs and services from an Outcome Evaluation approach
· Organizational development and change processes
· Financial Management
· Human Resources management
· Resources and Community Development, including fundraising
· Policy development
· Sexual Violence and Violence against Women and Social Policy
· Information technology and management
· Marketing and Public relation, including Media
· Government and funding relations
· Commitment to volunteering a minimum of 4 hours/week
